Program Coordinator Position with the NCSFA

The North Carolina State Firemen's Association is seeking an individual to fill the position of Program Coordinator. This is a full-time position and the individual will assist in the management of the programs of the Association.

This person must have knowledge of the North Carolina Fire Service and its programs, well developed inter-personal skills, the ability to communicate ideas and concepts and self-discipline.

The applicant must possess fundamental skills in computer and word processing, copiers, fax and other general office equipment. Some weekend and night-time travel will be involved.

Tasks and Related Duties: This employee will be responsible for program implementation and coordination. The principle areas of work are the Fire Conference, Gateway Conference, functions and activities of the Association Board of Directors and representation of the Association in regional and local fire service activities. The tasks required of this position are:

  • Presentations on programs and benefits of the Association for members of the Association

  • Arrangement for conference facilities and support

  • Travel planning for board meetings and conferences

  • Communications to members regarding meeting and conference planning and activities

  • Working with hotels and travel agencies in facilities and travel arrangements for individuals

  • Manage day-to-day conference logistics

  • Answer questions of members regarding member program and benefits

  • Plan workshops on member benefits and services for the annual conference

  • Represent the Association at regional meetings of the Fire Service

  • Assist local Fire Departments with benefit issues.

  • Assist in conference and workshop registrations

  • Coordinate with NCSFA partnering organizations activities and programs as required

  • Manage special projects as assigned by the Executive Director


  • An excellent benefits package is offered and a starting salary of $39.000.00.

    Our office will be moving to Raleigh in mid-July.  The person hired for this position will work in the new office located at 323 West Jones Street, Suite 401 in the Quorum Center.
