Occupation: Assistant Fire Chief - Chief of Staff

Paul D. Brooks is an Assistant Fire Chief with the Greensboro, NC Fire Department, currently serving as Chief of Staff, and manages the Office of Strategic Planning and Information Systems. He earned an Associates Degree in Fire Protection Technology and a Bachelors Degree in Management and Ethics.

Paul is the only member in the more than 115-year history of the NC State Firemen’s Association to have held every elected office available, and currently serves as Treasurer. He represents the IAFC to the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, serves as the Commission’s Chairperson, and as a principle member of the NFPA 1710 Committee. He recently served as a study panel member for the National Academy of Public Administration for a study of the Fire Act Grant program and associated performance measures.

Paul resides in Greensboro with his wife Kathy and two children, Jamie and Jeremy.
