Occupation: Fire Chief

Fire Chief Tommy Cole started his fire service career as a volunteer with the North Central Alamance Fire Department (Alamance County) in 1987 as a Junior Firefighter. In 1990, he became the first paid firefighter in the department’s history and in 1999 he became the Asst. Chief followed by the position of Chief one year later. In February of 2001, he was appointed Fire Chief of the Pleasant Garden Fire Department in Guilford County. Chief Cole served as the Chairman of the Guilford County Fire/Rescue Council in 2005 and currently serves as 1st Vice-President of the Piedmont NC Firefighters Association.

He presently serves as the Piedmont Director on the NC State Firemen’s Association (NCSFA) Executive Board. He is also a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and the Volunteer and Combination Section (VCOS), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC).

Tommy lives in Pleasant Garden with his wife Crystal and their three children, Bethany, Chelsea, and Alex.
